Annual Summer Book Sale

Your Last Chapter to Save Big: NMPL’s 2024 Book Sale Is a Two-Year Farewell!

Attention, bookworms and bargain hunters! The Friends of the New Milford Public Library are turning the final page on summer book sales—for now. Due to major construction at the library, the 2024 Annual Summer Book Sale (July 11–13 at New Milford High School) will be their last event for at least two years.

That’s right—no sales in 2025 or 2026. So if you’ve been waiting for the perfect time to build your home library, stock up on kids’ books, or find summer reads without breaking the bank, this is it.

Here’s your game plan:

  • Thursday, July 11: Get first dibs during Early Bird Hour (9–10 a.m.) for $5—or browse for free from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Friday, July 12: Open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Saturday, July 13: Final Day! Grab everything at half price from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Thousands of gently used books await across every genre—mysteries, memoirs, cookbooks, classics, and kids’ favorites—all priced to move.

And as the Friends themselves put it:

“Due to the library construction, this will be our LAST book sale for at least 2 years! Think ahead and STOCK up!!”

Don’t let this literary window close without a visit. Plan your trip now—before the shelves go silent until 2027:
